Located in the Northernmost part of Rabun County at an elevation of 2,135 feet, Dillard was founded in 1823 by Captain John Dillard, a lieutenant of the Virginia Militia in the American Revolution. The town was founded almost 100 years after John and his son settled there with a home in the early 1700s. A must-see destination is the Dillard House, an inn, restaurant, and conference center that opened to the public in the 1910s by the Dillard family after WWII. The Dillard House Stables is also a great stop if you enjoy petting farm animals or horseback riding.
